Levels Program Jireh Farm members are encouraged to build their skills and enjoy their time on horseback in a number of ways. One method we employ is to allow members the opportunity to choose riding activities at Jireh Farm outside of organized events. Members may use Jireh Farm horses/ponies at Jireh Farm on the trails or in the arena during our open hours based on their riding level. Levels will be determined by both written and ridden tests.
Level 1 Members who pass level 1 requirements may use horses/ponies in the arena. The horse/pony will be assigned by the Jireh Farm instructors on every occasion.
Level 2 Members who pass level 2 requirements may use horses/ponies in the arena and on the Jireh Farm trails. Level 2 riders must have a Jireh Farm instructor with them on the trail for a fee of $15 per half hour. Multiple riders may share this cost. Horse/pony assignments will be made by Jireh Farm.
Level 3 Level 3 riders may ride in the arena or on the Jireh Farm trails. Trail riding must be limited to a walk or trot with no jumping unless an instructor is hired for the ride. Level 3 riders may choose their horse/pony with Jireh Farm approval.
Level 4 Level 4 riders may ride in the arena or on the Jireh Farm trails and may choose to canter and/or jump on the trail. There are no requirements to have an instructor, however, you are encouraged to ride with a buddy. Level 4 riders may choose their horse/pony with Jireh Farm approval.
Riders at any level are required to let Jireh Farm know when they leave and when they expect to return from any riding activity (we like to know when to worry). Parental approval is required for minors to participate in the activities at each level. Tests may be taken during regular lessons or you may schedule this at a separate time.
